About The Company
MapZone was founded in May 2000 to
provide online mapping, address and direction information solutions to
consumers. The goal of the founding directors is to develop and deliver
innovative map-based products and services to expand the knowledge economy.
About MapZone.co.nz
MapZone presents detailed digital
maps covering the entire country showing cities and towns, including small
rural communities. To help you find specific locations the site shows all
legal roads, addresses, and main geographical features. You can view
all our road maps at a scale of 500 metres per screen, which is
approximately the scale of most commercially available suburban street
maps. You get detailed street maps of densely populated areas, such as the
main CBD, as well as small rural towns and cities.
To help you find specific addresses anywhere within
the country, MapZone has a database of over 1.3 million registered
addresses. MapZone will locate, highlight and display any urban or rural
address on your screen. Fill out the appropriate fields in the Address
Search form to see how quick and easy it is to locate an address. However,
on occasions the address you entered may vary from the registered address,
resulting in an "address not found" message. For an explanation

Search Functions
When you want to know where a street or road is,
use Address Search without the street
number and the system will display the map and highlight the street name.
Geographical features and places like : lakes,
rivers, mountains ranges, caves, glaciers and other points of interest
can be found by using Feature Search.
Organisation
Search includes categories of commercial businesses such as banks,
restaurants, retailing, trades, and professional services. MapZone has an
extensive database of Building Names in the seven major cities so now you can locate a specific building by
name. We have building names for the Central Business District (CBD)
in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, Whangarei, Christchurch and Dunedin.
To browse through our maps to find geographic
features, cities, towns, streets and roads, simply use our drill down
(zoom in/out) facility Browse Maps. Just
point and click onto the area you want to zoom in on and the system will
show you the next level of detail. Additionally, you can pan north, south,
west or east to navigate around on the same map level. To make your search
process easier, MapZone provides seven levels of maps. This provides
sufficient detail to show an address within 5 metres of accuracy.
Data Accuracy and Notification of Errors
While we make every effort to ensure that our
search results are accurate, a large portion of the data and information
in our database is supplied by third party sources. Therefore, we cannot
guarantee the accuracy of all the information on our site. If you are
aware of any inaccuracies or out-of-date information, please Email Us at MapZone. All information passed to us will go through
a verification procedure before it is updated. Where information cannot be
verified, no changes will occur.
