PDA Maps

PDA Maps allows a user to access Mapzone maps on small screen devices, such as PDA’s and smartphones, over a wireless connection. Compared with broadband Internet connection, each page provides a minimal amount of graphical information, better suited to the slower mobile data networks.

Address Search

Searches for a Street or an address, anywhere in New Zealand, similar to the Address Search on the web site.
Enter the Street Number in the Street Name for an Address or just the Street Name and the system will return the list of known Addresses or a Street Names.

Select the address from the list provided and a map will be displayed off that address. The default map is 200 x 300 pixels, although this may be changed in the PDA Setup screen.

PDA SETUP

PDA setup will allow you to change the size of the map on your particular PDA device. The details will be stored and used in all subsequent map queries made by you.

  • Enter the Size of the maps to be displayed on your specific PDA, in pixels.  The default size is 200 x 300 pixels.
  • Enter the File Type that you would like to view the maps
  • JPG-files are usually smaller, but these may have a slightly reduced quality
  • PNG-files are usually larger in size, but they are of slightly better quality.
  • Save will save the parameters for use in subsequent map queries.  These parameters may be changed at any time.

Co-Ord

This allows you to specify a set of x,y co-ordinates, in NZMG format and a map will be on the co-ordinates specified.
